Timothée VARON - Baritone
French baritone Timothée Varon graduated from the National Superior Conservatory of Music in Lyon where he studied with Françoise Pollet and Mireille Delunsch. He is an award-winner of the Arles Competition and the Raymond Duffaut Young Talent Competition in 2018.
He has been a member of the Paris Opera Academy since season 2018-2019.
In this frame, he sang the role of Eisenstein from Die Fledermaus in a touring production in France, The Clock and The Cat from L’Enfant et les Sortilèges at the Palais Garnier as well as many recitals (French art song, orchestral songs, opera excerpts).
Outside of the Paris Opera Academy he sang Belcore from L'Elisir d'Amore, Moralès from Carmen and the title-role in Don Giovanni at the Royaumont Abbey staged by Patrice Caurier and Moshe Leiser. He sang Papageno from Die Zauberflöte at the « Opera pa Skäret » Festival in Sweden.
He sang Beethoven's Scottish Songs in Rennes and a selection of French art song at the Opéra de Lyon. He sang Orff's Carmina Burana and Schubert's Stabat Mater with the Vannes Symphonic Orchestra in Brittany.
This season 2020-2021 will be his last one at the Paris Opera Academy. He will sing Aeneas from Dido and Aeneas in Evian conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón, Gaston from Les P'tites Michu by Messager in Rouen and Der Theatermaschinist from Vec Makropulos in Dijon. Concert-wise, he will sing Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem in Rennes, a Copland-Gershwin program on tour with the Picardie Orchestra as well as the New Year's concert in Nancy.
