Alexandre ADRA   -   Bass

Born in Canada to French and Lebanese parents, Alexandre Adra studied at the Rennes Conservatory, then in the Baroque opera class at the CRR of Paris with Stéphane Fuget, and at the Il Caravaggio Lyric Studio with Camille Delaforge.

He was a finalist in the Marmande and Voix Nouvelles Grand-Ouest competitions in 2022, and a laureate of the Corsica Lyrica competition in 2023. In 2024, he was awarded the ARCAL scholarship as part of their "Jeune scène lyrique" (Young Lyric Scene) program.

On stage, he has performed several repertoire roles, including Golaud in Pelléas et MélisandeSarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Il Commendatore and Masetto in Don Giovanni, The Armchair and The Tree in L'Enfant et les SortilègesSimone in Gianni Schicchi, and Il Marchese d'Obigny in La Traviata. His Baroque training has also allowed him to perform as Caronte in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and The Cold Genius in Purcell's The Fairy Queen.

 

In concert, he participated in Rameau's Pygmalion at the Pontoise Baroque Festival with the Ensemble Il Caravaggio, and Landi's La Morte d’Orfeo with the Ensemble Les Épopées in Versailles. With Angers-Nantes Opéra, he participated in the series "Ça va mieux en le chantant" and was then invited back for Saint-Saëns' Requiem and Puccini's Messa di Gloria.

For the 2025–2026 season, he joins the Academy of the Royal Opera of Versailles. As part of this program, he sings Don Magnifico in Rossini's La Cenerentola (French version) and performs in Mozart's Requiem and several gala concerts. He also takes over his role in La Morte d’Orfeo (at the Theater an der Wien), sings in Peri's Euridice (Versailles) again with the Ensemble Les Épopées, and performs as Zuniga in Carmen at the Rennes Congress Center.
