Camille BRAULT   -   Mezzo-soprano

Mezzo-soprano Camille Brault studied voice in Paris, followed by the Manhattan School of Music in New York and the University of Montreal. She joined Cécile de Boever’s Pôle Lyrique d’Excellence in Lyon before joining the Academy of the Opéra Royal de Versailles at the start of the 2025 academic year.

On stage, she has notably been heard in the roles of Sesto in Handel's Giulio Cesare (Les Nouveaux Caractères), The Second WomanSpirit in Dido and Aeneas (Ensemble Les Argonautes at the Victoria Hall in Geneva), Proserpine in Charpentier's La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfers (Festival Les Baroquiales), Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Montreal and Nevers), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (LabOpéra), Orpheus in La Petite Balade aux Enfers after Gluck (Compiègne and on tour), Angelina in La Cenerentola (Espace Reuilly in Paris), Aglaé in Hervé's Le Petit Faust (Les Frivolités Parisiennes / Palazzetto Bru Zane), Puss in Boots in Félix Fourdrain's Les Contes de Perrault (Reims, Athénée in Paris, Compiègne, and Tourcoing), and the title role in Carmen (on tour in France).

In concert, she has performed repertoires ranging from baroque music (Handel/Rameau program at the Opéra Royal de Versailles) and light music (Maurice Yvain program with the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Reims) to contemporary repertoire (premieres by composer Christopher Tin at Carnegie Hall in New York).

During the 2026–2027 season, she will reprise the role of Orpheus in La Petite Balade aux Enfers (Angers, Nantes, Caen, and Neuchâtel), Puss in Boots in Les Contes de Perrault (Massy and Nancy), and the title role in Carmen (on tour with the Compagnie Maurice et les Autres). She will sing the roles of CéphiseOméga in the Rameau / Gluck diptych Pygmalion / Le Cadi Dupé (Tours and Versailles) and Marthe in Reynaldo Hahn's Le Temps d’Aimer (Athénée in Paris, Reims, Tourcoing). She will perform in a piano-accompanied recital at the Opéra de Tours ("Incantations" program) and take part in numerous concerts (Charpentier/De Lalande program and Opera Gala in Versailles, "bel canto" program with the Orchestre d'Auvergne).
