Julie GOUSSOT - Soprano
After studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon and the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Julie Goussot deepened her training at the Opéra Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin, as well as with the opera company Opera Fuoco and the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky.
She is a prize-winner of several opera competitions, notably winning first prizes at the Marmande Competition in 2021 (Opera, Mélodie, and Audience Prizes).
Her early stage engagements at the Opéra du Rhin included the roles of the Second Nymph in Rusalka, the First Lady in The Magic Flute, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, the Fourth Flower-Maiden in Parsifal, the title role in Lehár’s operetta Friederike, the title role in Messager’s Madame Chrysanthème, and the role of the Zaunschlüpfer for the French premiere of Walter Braunfels' opera Die Vögel.
With Opera Fuoco (conducted by David Stern), she has sung Luise in Korngold's Die stumme Serenade, Romilda in Handel's Serse, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Cintia in Cimarosa's Il Pittor Parigino, and Mimì in La Bohème.
A regular guest at the Capitole in Toulouse, she has performed there as The Keeper of the Threshold / The Voice of the Falcon in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Cupid in Orphée aux Enfers, and Yvette in Weinberg’s Die Passagierin.
Elsewhere in France, she has been heard as Micaëla in Carmen (LabOpéra), Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte (on tour with Opéra Éclaté), Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly (Nuits Lyriques de Marmande), Guadalena and Manuelita in La Périchole (Opéra-Comique), the Second Nymph in Rusalka (Bordeaux), and the First Lady in The Magic Flute (Bordeaux and Lille).
She collaborates with several Baroque music ensembles, including Arte dei Suonatori (Poland), Orkester Nord (Trondheim), Orchestre Theresia / Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik (Austria), Orchestre Jonas, and Le Parlement de Musique (Strasbourg).
On the concert stage, she has performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg (Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night's Dream), the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice (a Strauss father-and-son program), the Örebro Symphony Orchestra in Sweden (Mahler's 4th Symphony and Canteloube's Chants d'Auvergne), and the Orchestre de Pau (Carmina Burana).
Her recordings include the role of Axinia for the rediscovery of Johannes Mattheson's Baroque opera Boris Goudenow (CPO label) and the First Lady in The Magic Flute (Aparté label). Upcoming release: "Soirées Parisiennes" (Mélodies by Viardot, Bonis, Koechlin, Duparc, Fanny Mendelssohn…) with pianist Rodolphe Lospied, with whom she forms the Duo Symbiose.
