Serenad UYAR   -   Soprano

The Franco-Turkish soprano Serenad Uyar is an award winner of several competitions (AsLiCo, DEBUT 2006, ALDECA, Leyla Gencer). She settled in France and achieved her tuition at the CNIPAL in Marseille (former postgraduate opera training centre).

 

She was a member of the Ensemble at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin for a few season, giving her the opportunity to make her debut in such roles as Die Königin der Nacht from Die Zauberflöte (then at the Staatsoper and Komische Oper in Berlin, in Mannheim, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Salzburg, Liege, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, Tirana, Copenhagen, Marseille, Vichy, Nantes, Toulouse), Donna Anna from Don Giovanni (then in Marseille, Bari, Ghent, Kiel, Hamburg), Lucia from Lucia di Lammermoor (then in Firenze, Gozo, Düsseldorf, Toulon, Dijon, Marseille, Massy, Padova, Rovigo, Tel Aviv), Gilda from Rigoletto (then in Karlsruhe), Violetta from La Traviata (then in Lecce, Istanbul, Clermont-Ferrand) and Soeur Constance from Dialogues des Carmélites.

 

Her repertoire also includes such roles as Larissa from Il Trionfo di Clelia by Glück (Athens, Bologna), the title-role of Manon by Massenet (Nantes), Juliette from Roméo et Juliette (Sassari), Mimi from La Bohème (Ankara), the title-role of Rusalka (Tours), the roles of Olympia, Antonia, Giulietta and Stella from Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Fribourg, Massy, Clermont-Ferrand), Laura from Les Fées du Rhin by Offenbach (Tours, Biel), Leïla from Les Pêcheurs de Perles (Saint-Céré Festival, Clermont-Ferrand), Liù from Turandot (Ankara), Cio-Cio-San from Madama Butterfly (Ankara, Fribourg and for a French tour),  the title-role in Šárka by Janacek (Biel, Solothurn), Konstanze from Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Marseille, Clermont-Ferrand), Elettra from Idomeneo (Metz, Massy, Avignon), Madeleine de Coigny from Andrea Chénier (Ankara), Abigaille from Nabucco (Biel, Solothurn), Lady Macbeth from Macbeth (Blackwater Valley Opera Festival) and Nedda from Pagliacci in Biel and Solothurn.

 

Concert-wise, she sang Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana (Scala in Milan, Berlin, Istanbul, Ankara), Beethoven’s Christus am Olberge (Marseille), Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Istanbul), Mahler’s 8th Symphony (Ankara), Fazil Say’s Meltin Oltiok Oratorio (Istanbul), Brahm’s Ein deutsches Requiem (Ankara).

 

During season 2024-2025, she takes over the role of Lady Macbeth from Macbeth (Biel, Solothurn and touring Switzerland), and the title-role in Rusalka in Massy.
